Asian Professional Women in Technology (APWT) is proud to present its first  iWant series (Intelligent Women Are the New Titans) with a focus on Women In Mobile

Join us for an evening of conversation with some of Silicon Valley's most experienced women mobile executives and entrepreneurs. Learn about exciting mobile applications on innovative photo sharing, seamless media consumption across cars, mobiles, home and personalized mobile coupons or shopping deals based on your location. These apps are aimed to enhance our lifestyle with better user experiences and more relevant information.

Ishita Majumdar,

Ishita is a 15+ year telecom veteran, having worked both as a technology and strategy Executive at Motorola and IBM.  She serves as an Executive-in-Residence in Plug &Play, where she advises early stage start ups on business models and market development.

 

Dhana Pawar, Advisor to MobiQpons, Managing Dir. of Girls In Technology

Dhana Pawar is a senior mobile executive with over 10 years of experience leading strategic partnerships, product management, developer relations, and marketing for consumer and enterprise companies. Her primary experience is in providing compelling mobile solutions for companies of all sizes. Her entrepreneurial experience consists of both founding and running venture-backed mobile startups.  Dhana serves as an Advisor of Zazum, See Love Buy,  MobiQpons and  Managing Dir. of  Girls in Tech SV Chapter (www.girlsintech.net), and a Visiting Faculty at SFSU (New Media).

 

Michele Turner, EVP Products, CoolIris.  Prior to Cooliris, Michele was VP of the Platform Business Unit at Adobe Systems, where she was responsible for product management, product marketing, and developer relations for Adobe Flash Player, Adobe Flex, ColdFusion and Adobe AIR.  Prior to Adobe, she was a Principal at Strategic Instinct consulting with several Web 2.0 and search startups.  Before S.I. she served as VP of Product Marketing and Design at Netflix, Sr. VP for Product Marketing at AOL, SVP of Product at Excite@Home and held a number of management positions at Silicon Graphics.

 

Chia-Lin Simmons, VP of Marketing & Content for Harman International's (NASDAQ: HAR) Aha division. She oversees global marketing and business development for mobile, in-home and in-car products as well as for content programming.  Prior to joining Aha, she was VP of Marketing and General Manager of Playphone North America leading successful marketing, business development and product marketing efforts in wireless, mobile devices, e-commerce, and emerging technology.  She held key positions with AOL/ Time Warner, Audible (an Amazon company), WIRED, CNET, Beyond.com, Newscorp, and other digital media brands.  

She also co-hosts a weekly podcast call On Digital Media (www.odmcast.com) covering the technology, creation, distribution, consumption and monetization of digital media.

Besides her MBA from Cornell University, she has a JD from George Mason University School of Law and is a licensed New York attorney.
